Financial disclosure is the shared factual base for discussing a settlement. It is not a negotiation tactic. In financial remedy proceedings, Form E sets out income, property, pensions, liabilities and needs, with supporting documents. Even where people agree, they should understand what information supports the agreement and seek advice about making it binding.
A fictional summary lists a house, current accounts and salary but says nothing about pensions, a credit card or self-employment income. Mark each missing category and write one neutral request for information. Avoid accusing anyone of concealment on the basis of an incomplete summary alone. Then write a separate question about future housing needs.
